Member & Industry Advocacy

Australia’s three-tiered structure of local, state and Commonwealth governments can be difficult and time-consuming to navigate. Overlay the numerous regulatory and statutory authorities that impact the work of rehabilitation providers, and the need for a body that can advocate and lobby for positive outcomes for members is self-evident. ARPA therefore offers a rigorous industry and member advocacy service that provides uniform representation on behalf of providers on a wide range of legislative, regulatory and policy development matters.

Specific services include:

  • identifying issues likely to impact the industry and advocate and lobby for outcomes that benefit providers and those in their care
  • regularly engaging with key Commonwealth and state ministers on issues of relevance to members and the industry
  • preparing and making submissions to local, state and federal government - and their department - enquiries on issues pertinent to members and the industry
  • representing members and the industry at state/federal government and regulatory hearings and panels on key industry issues
  • identifying legislative and regulatory threats and providing an industry-representative response to mitigate and eliminate such threats.

The best interests of rehabilitation providers underpin the advocacy work of ARPA, providing genuine value for all members always.
