Aims and objectives
ARPA represents member organisations who deliver Occupational Rehabilitation
services across all States and Territories of Australia. These member
organisations employ the vast majority of working rehabilitation service
providers in Australia.
What does ARPA do?
Promotes and advances ethical behaviour of the rehabilitation industry by:

Developing and maintaining a Code of Practice

Developing and maintaining minimum service and competency standards
-
Enforcing membership requirements and assisting members to achieve relevant
standards.
Fosters communication and cooperation within and between businesses and
professions that provide rehabilitation services in Australia by:

Providing forums at committee, Branch and national Council for members to
express their opinions and agree directions

Holding conferences that bring together a wide range of views from within and
outside Australia

Collating and disseminating information relevant to the industry

Identifying and communicating industry trends

Providing advice to members and others on issues related to legislative change.
Promotes and advances recovery, restoration and return to work and independence
of people with injuries and diseases that will benefit from rehabilitation by:

Advancing research into improved knowledge, methods and practices

Promoting current best practice to members

Sourcing, arranging and providing training to develop the industry

Working with other stakeholders to improve medical, social and financial
outcomes for people with injuries and disease, their families, their employers,
insurance schemes and the State

Setting standards

Developing markets that traditionally lack the benefits provided by
rehabilitation services

Supporting government and private sector rehabilitation initiatives through
participation in Boards, Committees, Strategy Development Groups and with
research and development advice.
Fosters and promotes the rehabilitation industry and the community benefits of
rehabilitation in Australia by:

Measuring accurately the financial and social benefits of rehabilitation

Compiling and promulgating information that demonstrates these benefits.
